Little Guy in the Eye

Little Guy in Eye

Psa
17:8  Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

{Note: for a quick summation of the essence of what a “little guy in the eye” is please see the section at the end of this study on “Seeking His Face & the Golden Rule}

The phrase ‘apple of the eye’ is rendered כאישׁון בת־עין ‘k’ishon bat ayin’ in Hebrew.  אישון ‘ishon’ means man/ little man, בת ‘bat’ means daughter and עין ‘ayin’ means eye…the little guy/girl in the eye.

From Keil & Delitzsch commentary

“The apple of the eye, which is surrounded by the iris, is called אִישֹׁון, the man (Arabic insân), or in the diminutive and endearing sense of the termination on: the little man of the eye, because a picture in miniature of one’s self is seen, as in a glass, when looking into another person’s eye. בַּת־עַיִן either because it is as if born out of the eye and the eye has, as it were, concentrated itself in it, or rather because the little image which is mirrored in it is, as it were, the little daughter of the eye (here and Lam_2:18). To the Latin pupilla (pupula), Greek κόρη, corresponds most closely בָּבַת עַיִן, Zec_2:12, which does not signify the gate, aperture, sight, but, as בַּת shows, the little boy, or more strictly, the little girl of the eye. It is singular that אִישֹׁון here has the feminine בַּת־עָֽיִן as the expression in apposition to it. The construction might be genitival: “as the little man of the apple of the eye,” inasmuch as the saint knows himself to be so near to God, that, as it were, his image in miniature is mirrored in the great eye of God.”

Being the little guy/girl in the Eye of God is all about walking in close relationship with God who is love (1 John 4:8) and extending that love to our fellow man (1 John 4:12).  Its not about religion or doctrine, its about relationship with the Most High.  Each one of us must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling as God works through us according to His good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13).  If we keep focused on Him and not on religion He will be able to transform us from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18) until we are formed into the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).

Israel is the apple of YHWH’s eye (The Israel of God are those who are in Messiah Yahshua/Jesus)

Deu 32:9 For YHWH’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.

Deu 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness. He encircled him and cared for him; He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

Deu 32:11 As the eagle stirs up its nest; it hovers over its young; it spreads out its wings and takes it, and bears it on its wing.

Zec 2:8 For so says YHWH of Hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations who plundered you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye.

The Torah/Word of God (Yahshua/Jesus) is to be the little guy in our eye.

Pro 7:2 Keep my commands and live, and my law as the pupil of your eye.

When we look into the “eyes of YHWH” we see ourselves, when He looks into our eyes He sees the Torah, Himself.  The ultimate goal of walking with YHWH God is that at the end we will look into His eyes and see the Torah as well, His image being formed in and through us.

Joh 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Joh 17:22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Joh 17:23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Disciples/Little Guy in the Eye Connection

A look at the English word pupil connects the concept of the apple of the eye to study (of the Torah/Word of God).

Webster’s 1828 Dictionary: Pupil

PU’PIL, n. [L. pupilla, dim. of pupa, pupus. See Pup.]

The apple of the eye; a little aperture in the middle of the iris and uvea of the eye, through which the rays of light pass to the crystalline humor, to be painted on the retina.

PU’PIL, n. [L. pupillus, dim. of pupa, pupus. See Pup.]

1. A youth or scholar of either sex under the care of an instructor or tutor.

Walking as His disciples/students is seeking His Face as the apple of His eye/little guy in His eye.  The word ‘seek’ comes from דרש ‘d’rash’ which means to study.

Messiah commanded His followers to disciple all nations.

Mat 28:19  Then having gone, disciple* all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

The apple in the eye indicates an intimate relationship with another where you are so near one another that you can see your miniature self in their pupil. The Scriptures admonish us to seek that relationship with the Most High.

1Ch 16:11 Seek YHWH and His strength, seek His face continually.

The law/Torah is Light

Pro 6:23  For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

The Messiah is the Light

Joh 1:9  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

It is interesting to note that there are 7 mountains around Jerusalem linking to the Menorah.

Jerusalem is surrounded by sevent mountains which the Scriptures liken to YHWH surrounding His people.

Psa 125:1  A Song of Ascents. They who trust in YHWH shall be like Mount Zion; it is not shaken; it remains forever.
Psa 125:2  The mountains are all around Jerusalem; and YHWH is all around His people, from this time and forever.

The seven mountains upon which Jerusalem sits are Mount Zion (Psalm 125:1), Mount Ophel (2 Chronicles 33:14), Mount Moriah (2 Chronicles 3:1), Mount Bezetha, Mount Acra, Mount Gareb (Jeremiah 31:39), and Mount Goath (Jeremiah 31:39).

YHWH surrounding His people is linked with His return and brings forth more “apple of the eye” imagery.

Isa 31:4  For so YHWH has said to me: As the lion roars, even the young lion on his prey when the multitude of shepherds are gathered against him, he will not fear their voice, nor fret himself because of their noise. His People Israel are the little guy in His Eye, those abiding under the shadow of His wings, in covenant relationship with Him through Messiah Yahshua/Jesus.

Under the Shadow of His Wings

Mat 23:37  Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her. How often I desired to gather your children in the way a bird gathers her chicks under her wings! And you did not desire it.

Being the little guy in His eye is also associated with dwelling under the shadow of His wings.

Psa 17:8  Keep me as the pupil , the daughter of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings,

When the Scriptures speak of abiding in the shadow of His wings it is speaking of an intimate relationship were we dwell in His bosom, seeking His face where we see ourselves as a little guy in His eye.  We are protected from adversity.

The other portion of Scripture that speaks of the “apple of His eye” is in Zechariah.  Zechariah does not speak of eagles wings but the same concept is spoken of as YHWH will be a wall of fire AROUND us.  Here it can be seen that the pillar of fire and cloud in the wilderness is associated with Him bearing us up on eagles wings.

Zec 2:8  For so says YHWH of Hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations who plundered you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye.

Zec 2:5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, and I will be for glory in her midst, declares YHWH.

Psa 91:1  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

Psa 91:2  I will say to YHWH: My Refuge and my Fortress, my God; I will trust in Him.

Psa 91:3  For He delivers you from the fowler’s snare, from destruction’s plague.

Psa 91:4  With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler.

Psa 91:5  You shall not fear the terror of night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;

Psa 91:6  of the plague that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction laying waste at noonday.

Psa 91:7  A thousand shall fall by your side, and a myriad at your right hand; it shall not come near you.

Psa 91:8  Only with your eyes you shall look, and see the retribution of the wicked.

Psa 91:9  Because You, O YHWH, are My refuge; You make the Most High Your habitation*,

*Making the Most High our habitation; Abiding in the Almighty

Psa 71:3  Be a rock of strength for me, to which I may always go; You have given a command to save me; for You are my rock and my fortress.

The Rock is associated with dwelling under His wings as well.

Psa 71:4  O my God, deliver me out of the hand of the wicked, and out of the hand of the unjust and the ruthless.

Psa 71:5  For You are my hope, O Lord YHWH, my trust from my youth.

Psa 71:6  I have rested on You from the belly; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb; my praise shall be always of You.

Psa 71:7  I am like a wonder to many, but You are my strong tower.

Pro 18:10 The name of YHWH is a tower of strength, the righteous runs into it and is set on high.

HIS NAME=HIS CHARACTER=HIS WORD=YAHSHUA/JESUS.  Dwelling in the Rock=abiding under the shadow of His wings=dwelling in the strong tower=abiding in the Word=abiding in Him.

Psa 91:10  no evil shall happen to You, nor shall any plague come near Your tent.

Psa 91:11  For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways.

Psa 91:13  You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent You shall trample under foot.

Psa 91:14  Because He has set His love on Me, therefore I will deliver Him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name. (Pro 18:10)

Psa 91:15  He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him.

Psa 91:16 I will satisfy him with length of days (eternal life), and will make Him see My salvation (Hebrew: ישׁוּעה ‘yeshua’ the source of the name Yahshua/Jesus).

Here we can see that those who abide in the shadow of His wings will be protected from adversity, they will be given eternal life and will see Yahshua/Jesus.

Psa 17:5  My steps have kept in Your tracks (cycles of righteousness-see Torah portion studyclick here) so that my strides have not slipped.

Psa 17:6  I have called on You, for You will answer me, O God; bow down Your ear to me and hear my word.

Psa 17:8 Keep me as the pupil, the daughter of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings,

Psa 36:7  How precious is Your mercy, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

Psa 57:1  To the chief musician. Do not destroy. A secret treasure of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul trusts in You; yea, in the shadow of Your wings I will make my hiding place, until the great destruction passes by.

Psa 61:2  From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart faints; Oh lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. (Again we see the Rock associated with abiding under His wings)

Psa 61:4  I will dwell in Your tabernacle* forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.

The root word of עיטם ‘Etam’ is עט.

ayit

Here we see that the word Etam means an eagle’s wings in the sense of wrapping.  Samson dwelt in the cleft of the Rock (Rock = Messiah 1 Cor 10:4) in the city of Etam (wrapped in eagles wings).

It is also interesting that the word for pen/stylus comes from this same root word and is associated with the eagle’s/bird of prey’s talons. This is yet another association of the eagles wing’s with the Word.

ayit 2
Abiding under the shadow of His wings = abiding in the Word/Messiah.

Dwelling in the cleft of the Rock is also teaching about intimate relationship with the Almighty.

Exo 33:18  And he said, I pray, let me see Your glory.

Exo 33:19  And He said, I will cause all My goodness to pass before your face. And I will call out* the name of YHWH (*calling upon/calling out the name of YHWH is associated with the physical manifestation of YHWH on the earth) before your face. And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.

Exo 33:20  And He said, You are not able to see My face; for no man can see Me and live.

Exo 33:21  And YHWH said, Behold, a place by Me! And you shall stand on a rock.

Exo 33:22  And as My glory is passing it will be that I will put you in a cleft of the rock; and I will cover My hand over you during My passing.

Exo 33:23  And I will remove My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face cannot be seen.

1Ki 19:9  And he came there to the cave, and lodged there; and behold, the Word of YHWH came to him, and said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah?

1Ki 19:12  And after the earthquake was a fire, but YHWH was not in the fire; and after the fire came a still, small voice.

The still, small voice of YHWH is what we hear when we are walking intimately with Him.

Cherubim

Abiding under the shadow of His wings again goes back to the imagery in the Temple of the Cherubim.  Abiding in His Word = abiding under the shadow of His wings = abiding in Messiah (John 15)

Cherubim overshadowed the ark of the covenant, which held the Word of God (Exodus 25:16; Hebrews 9:4), with their wings (Exodus 25:18-20)…abiding under His wings=abiding in His Word/Yahshua.  The Cherubim were those who guarded the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:24).  When we are abiding under the shadow of His wings we are entering back spiritually in the Garden.  See PaRDeS studies.

Cherubim

Exo 25:20  And the cherubs shall be spreading out wings above, covering the mercyseat with their wings, and their faces each toward its brother; the faces of the cherubs shall be toward the mercyseat.

Abiding in the Shadow of His wings means we are protected from adversity.  This can also be seen by walking in the Torah/Word.

Psa 94:12  Blessed is the man You chasten, O YHWH, You teach him out of Your Law;

Psa 94:13  to give him rest from troubled days, until the pit is dug for the wicked.

Psa 94:14  For YHWH will not leave His people; nor will He forsake His inheritance.

Under His wings = under His skirt/kanaph.

This is a term of intimacy between a man and His wife.

Deu 22:30  A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.

Rth 3:9  And he said, Who are you? And she said, I am your handmaid Ruth, and you shall spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you are a kinsman redeemer.

Eze 16:8  And I passed by you, and I looked on you, and, behold, your time was the time of love. And I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. And I swore to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord YHWH. And you became Mine.

His skirt also is thematically connected to the tzitzit which is a picture of His Body and is also thematically connected to the regathering of the tribes of Israel and the resurrection.  {See Daily Tidbits 4/28 – Tzitzit}

May we all abide under the shadow of His wings and see ourselves as the Little Guy in His Eye, walking closer and closer with Him as each day passes.

The Bosom, the Family and Gathering at the Cross

The word father in Hebrew is associated with love, so too is the word mother.  אם ‘em’ (mother) is the source of the Latin ‘amare,’ the French ‘amitie’ and the English ‘amity,’ all of which mean love.  One of the Hebrew words for love is דד ‘dud/dad’ which means both love and breasts/bosom.  Interestingly, the English word ‘baby’ comes from the Hebrew בבה ‘baba’ which is related to the word אבוב ‘aboob’ the root of which is אב ‘av’ which means father but also means a pipe, as in the breast of the mother whose milk flows to give sustenance to the baby.  בבה ‘baba’ in Hebrew means the pupil, the apple of one’s eyes.  As any parent has held their baby in their arms against their bosom they recognize this is the epitome of love and intimate relationship (apple of the eye/little guy in the eye).

The Hebrew word for family is משפחה ‘mishpocha’ which comes from the root  שפח ‘shapach’.  שפח ‘shaphach’ is the source of the English word crucifixion from whence all the family of the earth is gathered (John 12:32).  The bosom, which represents the love of the family, also links to the crucifixion.

Messiah came from the bosom of the Father.

Joh 1:18  No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him.

He gathers and then carries in His bosom His people, linking to the crucifixion.  It is through the work of Messiah on the cross that mankind is brought into His family.

Isa 40:10  Behold, the Lord YHWH will come with strength, and His arm rules for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His wage before Him.
Isa 40:11  He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;
Psa 89:50  Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, my bearing in my bosom the insults of the many peoples
Psa 89:51  with which Your enemies have cursed, O YHWH; with which they have cursed the footsteps of Your anointed.

Eph 2:8  For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift (gift = love = bosom) of God;
Eph 2:9  not of works, that not anyone should boast;
Eph 2:10  for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
Eph 2:11  Because of this, remember that you, the nations, were then in the flesh (those having been called Uncircumcision by those having been called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands)
Eph 2:12  that at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers of the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
Eph 2:13  But now, in Christ Jesus you who then were afar off, came to be near by the blood of Christ.
Eph 2:14  For He is our peace, He making us both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition,
Eph 2:15  in His flesh causing to cease the enmity, the Law of the commandments in decrees, that He might in Himself create the two into one new man, making peace,
Eph 2:16  and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, slaying the enmity in Himself.
Eph 2:17  And coming, He proclaimed “peace to you, the ones afar off, and to the ones near.” Isa. 57:19
Eph 2:18  For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Eph 2:19  So, then, you are no longer strangers and tenants, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and of the family of God,

There are multiple words in Hebrew for love, all linking back to the bosom.  The most common is אהב ‘ahav’ which has the meaning of a gift and the expressions and actions of one towards the family.  The pictograph meaning displays the gift of the Father to mankind of His only begotten Son.  Again linking the bosom, the family and the crucifixion.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 15:13  Greater love than this has no one, that anyone should lay down his soul for his friends.

From the root:

The Pictograph meaning of Love:

The first and last letters spell out the word for Father (אב ‘ab’) and the middle letter is a picture of a man with outstretched arms (ה).  The Love of the Father is revealed through the Messiah on the tree, gathering all mankind back to their Creator.

Another word for love is חשק ‘chashaq’ which has the meaning of being knit together in love.  חשק ‘chashaq’ is related to the word חב ‘chav’ which means the bosom.  חשק ‘chashaq is the word used in reference to the joining together of the Tabernacle, which is a shadow picture of the body of Messiah.  It is no surprise that this joining together involved nails, just as in the nails used in the crucifixion (Exodus 38:17, 28; Deuteronomy 7:7; Colossians 2:2, 19; Ephesians 4:15-16).

חשק ‘Chashaq’ also can be traced back to the word חק ‘choq’

H2436
חוק  /  חק  /  חיק
chêyq  /  chêq  /  chôq
BDB Definition:
1) bosom, hollow, bottom, midst

חק ‘chuq’ is the root of חקק ‘chaqaq’ and חקה ‘chaqah’ which means to inscribe a decree or custom.  It is used in reference to the Torah/Word.  It is no surprise that the New Covenant, cut at Calvary is associated with the inscribing of the Word on our hearts which is contained in our bosoms (Jeremiah 31:31).

The feasts/appointed times, at which the people of YHWH gathered, are linked to this word חוק ‘choq.’

It is no surprise then that the English word ‘hug’ traces back to the Hebrew word חג ‘chag’ which means feast.

The feasts revolved around the gathering together of the people to the Tabernacle or tent.  The Tabernacle itself was called the אהל מועד ‘ohel mo’ed’ which means tent of meeting/gathering or tabernacle of congregation.  מועד ‘moed’ comes from the root word עד ‘ad’ which literally means to see the door, as in meeting as the door of the Tabernacle.

There are two more words in Hebrew which are translated as bosom.  One is חצן ‘chatsan’ which comes from חץ ‘chets’ which literally means a tent wall, as in an enclosing.  The second is the word צלחת ‘tsalachat’ which also means a bowl, as in the bowls used in the Tabernacle.  צלחת ‘tsalachat’ comes from the root צלח ‘tsalach’ which traces back further to צל ‘tsel’ which means a shadow…as under the shadow of His wings, the little guy in His Eye.

Recall that the word in Hebrew for pupil is בבה ‘baba’ which is the source of the English word ‘baby.’  Interestingly, the English word ‘shade’ comes from the Hebrew word שד ‘shad’ which means the breast/bosom.  שד ‘shad’ is the root of the word שדי ‘shaddai’ which is translated as ‘the Almighty.’  שד ‘shad’ literally means to return to the door, again linking with the feasts and the Tabernacle mentioned above.

Finally, the word דוד ‘dod’ means love.  דד ‘dod’ literally means the breasts.  The letter ‘dalet’ is the picture of a door, or flap of a tent which opens the way inside.  The tabernacle consisted of two doors/veils which דד displays.  What is the veil of the Tabernacle a picture of?  The body/flesh of Messiah.

Heb 10:20  which He consecrated for us, a new and living way through the veil; that is, His flesh;

The above portion of Scripture is in context of the New Covenant which was cut at Calvary where Messiah gathered mankind into His bosom (Isaiah 40:11; Psalm 89:50).

Bosom & Faith

Num 11:12  I, have I conceived all this people? I, have I begotten it, that You say to me, Carry it in your bosom as the foster father (אמן aman) bears the suckling, to the land which You have sworn to its fathers?

The word used above  for foster father/nursing father is אמן ‘aman’ which means faith.  Faith comes from the same root as truth (etymology) in Hebrew מן ‘man.’

Faith and Truthclick hereare synonomous

Faith (emunah) and Truth (emet) come from the same root and as seen above are interchangeable when translating the text.

Ancient Hebrew Definition

‘Emunah’ comes from the 3 letter root ‘aman’

‘Aman’ means truly, a sure foundation and support.  This is why Messiah is spoken of as the ‘Amen’ (Revelation 3:14).  He is the firm foundation represented by the Tree of Life/the Word.  The other tree in midst the Garden was the tree of knowledge which represents unfaithfulness/lawlessness.  Man must choose between the two.  The choice that one makes determines which seed/tree he will be a part of.  Interestingly, the parent root for the word ‘emunah’ is מן which means ‘the blood continues.’  It is the word used in Genesis 1 for ‘kind’ or species.  Recall that this is the origin of the word ‘etymology’ as well.

Faith is Biblically defined as walking in Truth who is the Word/Messiah.  Faith traces back to the Garden of Eden and the two trees in the midst of the Garden.  The Tree of Life which represents truth/faith and the tree of knowledge which represents unfaithfulness/lawlessness and man’s own will as to what is good or evil.

The English word faith comes from the Old French word ‘foi’ which means faith, belief, trust which traces back further to the Latin word ‘fides’ which has the same meaning.  ‘Fides’ traces back to the Hebrew word בטח ’batach.’  ‘Batach’ is also the source for the English word ‘trust.’  “Batach’ means to cling to someone or something.  It is pictured in the natural realm in a melon which clings to the vine.  Here again the picture of the Tree of Life and the tree of knowledge is seen.  Man can have faith in YHWH and cling to Him or man can choose his own way and cling to the tree of knowledge.  This concept of clinging to the vine is discussed in more detail in the Biblical definition of the Olive treeclick here and the word אב ‘av’ (Father)click here.

Seeking His Face & the Golden Rule

The Holy Scriptures admonish us to seek the Face of God at all times (1 Chronicles 16:11).  Seeking His Face where we appear as a “little guy” in His Eye will cause us to love others as He loves them…

When we look to God, we see what we are.  Evil, despicable, unworthy (Romans 3:10-19,23)…but when we look to Him we see His unending love for us in spite of our sinfulness (Ephesians 2:1-7).  When we look to our fellow man, our carnal flesh which is full of hate immediately wants to focus on their evils and unworthiness (1 Corinthians 3:1-4; Romans 8:7).  However, if we remember that we are just as unworthy of God’s love as them, yet God still grants us His unmerited, unending love, will we not be more likely to do the same to them?

He has forgiven us so let us forgive (Matthew 18:23-35; Ephesians 4:32).  He shows us mercy so let us show mercy (2 Samuel 22:36; Luke 6:36).  He overlooks our lack of understanding and ignorance so let us do the same with others.  Even if the other person accepts not our forgiveness, love and understanding we must remember that we have treated God the same in the past, and even still do today as believers.

In seeking His Face, His Light will shine upon us where we can walk in His name (Numbers 6:24-27).  If we seek His face continually (1 Chronicles 16:11), His light will reflect from us to others (2 Corinthians 4:6).  Scripture likens seeking the Face of the Lord as looking into a mirror (2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 Corinthians 13:12) in which we now see darkly.  As a result, we should abide in faith, hope and love.  Most importantly, in love.  This love is summed up in the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12; Luke 6:31).

All religions are based upon the Golden rule of treating others the way you want to be treated.  Almost everyone in the world follows a religion so why is there so much hate?  The problem is that we cannot keep the Golden Rule by our power or understanding.  The Golden Rule can only work if we are following by the principle of seeking His Face.  We can only truly abide by the Golden Rule if we are treating men as we wish God to treat us.  We want forgiveness and mercy and grace from God…this then should be given to others.  We must love as He loves us (John 13:34; 15:12).

Messiah said that the all of the Law and Prophets hang upon the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12; 22:40).  Paul also says that the entire law is based upon this principle (Galatians 5:14).  By applying the concept of seeking His Face, this is seen.  A proper fulfillment of the Golden rule depends upon what man is seeking.  God or religion/idols.  Idolatry and religion lead to hate (John 15:21-25; Hosea 9:7-8), this is why there is so much hate in the world.  If we are not walking in love, we are not walking with God (1 John 4:8).  Hatred for our fellow man is indicative that we are not seeking the Face of God as man was created in God’s image (1 John 4:20-21; James 3:9).  Hate is indicative that we are walking in the carnal flesh which is at war with God (Romans 8:7; Galatians 5:19-21).  Hate in one’s heart reveals a spiritual blindness (1 John 2:9-11) which is caused in many cases by religion (John 9:41; 15:21-25; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Isaiah 44:18; 6:9-10; Matthew 13:13-15; 15:7-14).

When we seek the Face of God at all times we can overcome the hate for others caused by fear and ignorance (1 John 4:18; Romans 8:15, 31-39; Psalm 118:6; Hebrews 13:6).  When we seek the Face of God we can love our enemies and show them mercy as He does (Matthew 5:43-48; Luke 6:27-36; Romans 12:14-21; 1 Peter 3:8-15; Ephesians 2:2-22).

This is the essence of being a “little guy in the Eye”.  Love.  Walking in close relationship with God who is love (1 John 4:8) and extending that love to our fellow man (1 John 4:12).

  1. Hello!
I see that you don’t follow Christmas, E*aster and some other holidays which has their origins in other holidays than the religion of Ribi Yehoshua ha-Mashiakh, which is great.
You stick to NT, which includes the NT-view of forgiveness and I would like to comment on that.

(le-havdil) How to live in order to enable the Creator in His loving kindness to provide His foregivness is outlined in Tan’’kh ( the Jewish Bible) ; and was also taught by the first century Ribi Yehoshua from Nazareth (the Mashiakh; the Messiah) (His teachings are found here: Netzarim.)

Tan’’kh – for example Yekhëzqeil (Hezekiel) 18 – promises foregivness to those who do their sincerest to keep the mitzwot (commandments) in Torah. The Creator cannot lie and He does not change (Malakhi 3:6)! According to Tehilim (“Psalms”) 103 the Creator gives His foregivness to those who do their sincerest to keep His berit (“covenant”; the pre-conditions to be included in the berit is according to the Jewish Bible to do ones sincerest to keep Torah).

No human can keep Torah perfectly. There is a provision. Ribi Yehoshua ha-Mashiakh lived and kept Torah with the sincerest of his heart, died innocently and became a sacrifice. Because of this the Creator can give His foregiveness to everyone doing his/her sincerest to keep His instructions found in Torah.

    All the best, Anders Branderud

    • I haven’t studied your page thoroughly yet but I have scanned through your study on ‘Prince William’s Occulted Numbers’ and found it very interesting. A lot of good connections. I have been trying to put up a series of studies on the Mark of the Beast and my next post is going to be on the ‘Holy Blood/Holy Grail’ theory which will contain the link to Prince William that you have on your site. I hope you don’t mind if I share some of your insights once I get that study posted, Yah willing.

  2. Brilliant stuff, man! What you have to say is really important and Im glad you took the time to share it. What you said really spoke to me and I hope that I can learn more about this. Thanks for sharing your opinion. I am yet to find anything as enlightening as this on the web.

  3. Would it be so terrible to believe that Yahushua was a great preacher & Torah teacher without ascribing divine or messiah status to him ? After all, we do not have world peace yet.

    • I looked at the website linked to your profile and while it is an honorable idea to want to join the religions of the world, it will not lead to the Truth. There is only ONE way to the Father, and that is through His Son. Yahshua the Messiah.

We must believe He is Messiah or we are dead in our sins.
Joh 3:18 The one believing into Him is not condemned; but the one not believing has already been condemned, for he has not believed into the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Joh 3:36 The one believing into the Son has everlasting life; but the one disobeying the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Joh 20:31 But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

      He is the ONLY WAY
Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If He is not YHWH in the flesh then our sins are not forgiven:
Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am, ye shall die in your sins.

Why does Messiah Yahshua say that we must believe that He is the ‘I AM’ or we can’t be saved? It is because man can’t save us from our sins
Psa 49:7 A man cannot at all redeem a brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,
Psa 49:8 for the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever,
Psa 49:9 for he shall yet live forever; he shall never see corruption.

      Man can’t save us
Deu 24:16 The fathers shall not die for sons, and sons shall not die for fathers; they each shall die for his own sin.
Eze 14:14 And though these three men were in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job, by their righteousness they should deliver only their souls, declares the Lord YHWH.
Eze 14:20 though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live, declares the Lord YHWH, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they by their righteousness would deliver only their souls.

However, mankind must be saved by a kinsman redeemer (Leviticus 25:25, 47-55

Heb 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, because of whom are all things, and through whom are all things, having brought many sons to glory, to perfect Him as the Author of their salvation through sufferings.
Heb 2:11 For both the One sanctifying and the ones being sanctified are all of one; for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,
Heb 2:12 saying, “I will announce Your name to My brothers; I will hymn to You in the midst of the assembly.” Psa. 22:22
Heb 2:13 And again, “I will be trusting on Him.” Isa. 8:17 And again, “Behold, I and the children whom God gave to Me.” Isa. 8:18
      Heb 2:14 Since, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, in like manner He Himself also shared the same things, that through death He might cause to cease the one having the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 and might set these free, as many as by fear of death were subject to slavery through all the lifetime to live.
Heb 2:16 For indeed He does not take hold of angels, “but He takes hold of” “the seed of Abraham.” Isa. 41:8, 9

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

      Only YHWH is our Savior

Isa 43:11 I, I am YHWH; and there is no Savior besides Me.
Hos 13:4 Yet I am YHWH, your God from the land of Egypt; and you shall know no other gods than Me. For there is no Savior besides Me.
Luk 1:46 And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,
Luk 1:47 and my spirit exulted in God My Savior.
Psa 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help (teshuah).
Psa 60:11 Give us help against our oppressor, for vain is the deliverance (teshuah) of man.

Hos 1:7 And I will have mercy on the house of Judah and will save them by YHWH their God. And I will not save them by bow or by sword, or by battle, by horses, or by horsemen.

However it is clear that Yahshua is described as our Savior…Yahshua is YHWH

Act 4:11 This One is the Stone counted worthless by you the builders, the One who has come to be into the Head of the Corner; Psa. 118:22
Act 4:12 and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved.
Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Tit 3:4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
      Tit 3:6 whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ, our Savior;
2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
1Jn 4:14 And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

      • Hello!

I want to comment about salvation.

It is important to note this: According to the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 in Hebrew according to the Hebrew numbering (which differs from the Christian), the Messiah would teach his followers to observe the directives of the Torah – the books of Moses. The word ‘mishpat’ is used, which implies non-selective observance of the directives of the Torah to a person’s utmost.

As stipulated in Devarim ["Deuteronomy"] 6:4-9,11:13-21 one is required to keep all of the directives of Torâh′ to one’s utmost—viz., “with all one’s heart, psyche and might [lit. "very"]“—”for the purpose of extending your days and the days of your children… like the days of the heavens above the earth” (i.e., eternal life). According to the Tan’’kh -Yekhezeqeil ["Ezekiel"] chapter 18 et.al – the Creator confer His atonement in His loving kindness to those and only those turning away from their Torah-transgressions and (re)turning to non-selectively Torah-observance including mishpat. [Further documentation]

That is, contradictory to what is traditionally assumed persons rejecting the Torah will not be forgiven by the Creator in His loving kindness.

Torah prohibits additions to Torah and subtractions from Torah [D’varim [Deuteronomy] 4:2 and 13:1 in Hebrew according to Hebrew numbering]. The NT-salvation (John 3:16 et.al ) which you outline in your post constitutes an addition to Torah and subtractions from Torah and is prohibited. The above paragraphs outlines what the Creator requires of mankind in order for Him to in His loving kindness bestow His forgiveness.

The NT has been redacted. You will find proofs of this on www (dot) netzarim.co (dot) il [Glossaries; NT].

However, this is not a problem for the person loving the Creator and wanting to do His Will. He/she will (re)turn into non-selective observance of the directives of the Torah, which includes an immensely meaningful relationship with the Creator.

        All the best!
        Anders Branderud

  4. If there is only ONE Almighty – then there is only ONE religion. There is no name of a religion in scripture. It is just being a monotheist like Abraham.

  5. Outstanding post, you have pointed out some superb details , I also believe this s a very fantastic website.
